That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more dangerous, but it’s certainly uncomfortable.”

Weave my Disgust: a Contemporary Review of Exile in Guyville

Though it was written as a response to the Chicago indie music scene in the 90s, Exile in Guyville manages to encapsulate the female experience unlike any album from its time.

There’s a certain insecurity that comes from growing up in the wrong body. Knowing who you are, and who you want to be, in contrast to who society says you are. Being lost personally is one thing; having to justify your identity and the way you view the world is another. When I was at my most disillusioned, I turned to music as a way to escape. In an attempt to rebel against artistic stagnation, a fed up Neil Young wrote the multifaceted masterpiece Rust Never Sleeps

By 1979, Neil Young was at his wits end. The 70s were filled with commercial failures, mixed reviews, and infighting within his close circles. In an interview with Cameron Crowe of Rolling Stone, Young said this of his waning success: “I’ve got a job to do. The Eighties are here. I’ve got to just tear down whatever has happened to me and build something new. You can only have it for so long before you don’t have it anymore. You become an old-timer . . . which . . . I could be . . . I don’t know.” By the end of 1979, he took this promise to heart.

Murfreesboro, Tennessee’s own Jerseybird are a force of pure angst-rock madness that’s not to  be reckoned with.

This all started in January 2025 when President Trump signed three executive orders that rolled back federal government Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion(DEI) policies. People were outraged because these very policies protected them from discrimination in their workplace and in the hiring space as well.

Do Professors Really Care About Your Grades?

At WVWC, students strive for success but, sometimes, end up with a lousy grade. You have to blame someone, and who wants to take accountability, so who else can you blame but your professor?

For instance, your professor has the power to give you a good grade or a bad grade, and of course, this professor in particular “hates you,” so that’s the reason you got a bad grade (hypothetically).

John Zubal has worked at WVWC for 9 years as an athletic trainer. “I love coming to work and knowing that the people I provide service and care for appreciate me even at my advanced age; they still welcome me into their world because they know I can help make things better for them,” Zubal said.

Big Games and Big Games

There are plenty of sports events and on campus activities that are coming to West Virginia Wesleyan College this year.
